Свои выводы ученые сделали после анализа двух крупных исследований: Nurses’ Health Study и Health Professionals Follow-up Study. В этих работах изучался образ жизни 123 219 медицинских работников, которые систематически проходили обследования.

Исследования длились около 30 лет, и за это время умерло 42 167 участников. Авторы новой работы решили проанализировать образ жизни всех медработников и выявить взаимосвязь между продолжительностью жизни и полезными привычками людей.

На основе этого исследования ученые выделили пять полезных привычек, которые влияют на продолжительность жизни. Эти привычки точно не покажутся вам новыми: отказ от курения, здоровое питание, физические нагрузки, нормальный вес и умеренные дозы алкоголя.

По данным Всемирной организации здравоохранения (ВОЗ), с 1980 по 2015 год число страдающих ожирением в мире удвоилось и сейчас достигает около 600 миллионов человек. Авторы работы рассказали, что люди, которые соблюдали четыре полезные привычки, но при этом испытывали проблемы с лишним весом, прожили примерно столько же, сколько и участники, которые и вовсе не следовали правилам.

В качестве одного из сопутствующих факторов ожирения рассматриваются нарушения сердечно-сосудистой деятельности и метаболизма.

Что касается алкоголя, то ученые выяснили: безопасная доза алкоголя в день для мужчин — 30 граммов этилового спирта, для женщин — не более 15.

Если человек не соблюдал ни одного правила, то средняя продолжительность жизни составляла 76 лет у мужчин и 79 лет у женщин. Участники, которые следовали всем пяти правилам, жили на 12—14 лет дольше. Средний возраст у мужчины составил 87 лет, у женщин — 93 года.

В исследовании ученые также установили, что участники, которые вели здоровый образ жизни, на 82% реже умирали от сердечно-сосудистых заболеваний. Риск рака также снижался на 65%.

По оценке ученых, все пять правил соблюдают лишь 8% граждан США.
